Gary R. Cooper has been a Senior Vice President and Principal with the Multifamily Advisory Group at Colliers International since 2014. Over the past 37 years, Mr. Cooper has represented a wide variety of major institutions, individuals, and partnerships in the acquisition and disposition of multifamily and commercial real estate assets. Gary has been a featured lecturer at legal, accounting, and real estate continuing education classes on the subjects of investment real estate and taxation. Mr. Cooper has been quoted about the commercial real estate market and transactions in many trade publications including Wall Street Journal, Multifamily Executive, Midwest Real Estate News, Globe Street, National Real Estate Investor, Apartment Finance Today, Real Estate Forum, Crain’s Cleveland Business, Columbus Business First, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Columbus Dispatch, and the Dayton Daily News.
Gary earned an undergraduate degree from Baldwin Wallace College with a concentration in accounting and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law where he was the Sherman S. Hollander Real Estate Award recipient. Prior to joining Colliers International, Mr. Cooper was Vice President and Director of the National Multi Housing Group of Marcus & Millichap and established Marcus & Millichap’s office in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the Founder and Designated Broker of BGL Realty, an affiliate of leading middle market investment banking firm, Brown Gibbons Lang & Company.
